If you are a part of the Sikh community or just want to learn more about the culture, then the Punjabi Club may just be for you.

As one of the new clubs here at Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, the club’s main goal is to promote the Punjabi culture in our campus and community. Punjabi Club leader Tanu Notra said, “Every day is a something new, we talk about future events or where we want this club to go.”

Punjabi Club meets Wednesdays at lunch in Mrs. Durham’s room, C-2. The first official meeting was September 14 following the club fair. This initial meeting included club member input on what they wished to learn about in the Punjabi culture. This ranged from different types of food all the way to politics.

One major goal for Punjabi Club is bringing back Bhangra Bash. This was a school event that consisted of traditional music and dances as a way to celebrate the Sikh community in our school. They also plan on organizing new events with the help of their new club members. Punjabi Club also plans to do some community service related to Punjabi issues.

For more information and/or questions, be sure to contact club leaders Tanu Notra and Gurpuneet Hundal at [email protected] or [email protected].
