On April 22, 2019, a school-wide assembly was held for California Secretary of State Alex Padilla. Secretary Padilla, Councilwoman Angelique Ashby and Assemblymember Kevin McCarty came to talk to the students about voter registration and the importance of voting. There was also a group of student panelists afterwards that took turns asking Alex Padilla voting-related questions. After the speeches, there was time allotted for students to preregister to vote.
