On May 1 2019, NP3 seniors celebrated National College Decision Day during an extended lunch in the quad. National College Decision Day is the deadline for most students to officially matriculate into a school and when students know where they will be attending in the fall. This year, the quad held various activities for seniors to embrace their new schools, including a large banner where students wrote the names of the colleges they’re attending.

This year’s students are attending a variety of institutions scattered across the country, from our very own Sacramento State, to schools as far as New Hampshire.

Many students are planning to attend UCs, with a number of students attending UC Davis and a handful even going to UCLA.

On the topic of deciding where to go, senior Jakob Franco said, “I quickly boiled my choices to three schools, Northwestern, USC and UCLA but decided on UCLA after taking tours of the school this month.”

Another senior, Steven Smith, said, “I had always had my sights on UCLA, so when I got accepted it was a very easy decision to make.”

As the regular time for lunch began, underclassmen began to flow into the quad. One junior, Harpreet Gill, commented “It’s sad to see all the seniors go, but I’m eager to face the college applications process next year.”

Decision day is yet another reminder that the 2019-2020 school year is winding to a close.
