A drive-thru graduation ceremony will be held for NP3 High’s graduating seniors on Saturday, May 30.
The event is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.
Seniors will arrive in their own advisory groups at a designated time wearing their cap and gown.
¨Each student’s name will be read when they get out of their car to receive their diploma from their advisory teacher,¨ according to NP3 High Principal Melissa Mori in her weekly captain’s log.
Photos of each graduate will be taken at this event by a professional photographer and will be included in a commemorative class of 2020 video created for senior families that will be released in June.
¨Students will be able to decorate their cars and drive through the parking lot to pick their belongings up,¨ added Mori.
Seniors Advisors and counselors will be present at both these events supporting students.
All families and students are advised to stay in their cars during the pick-up parade.
The class of 2020 celebrated their senior sunset on April 27 at 7:55 p.m. by going outside their individual homes and watching the sunset go down. The in-person senior sunset had been originally planned for May 1 at the North Natomas Regional Park. The purpose of senior sunset is for the class to celebrate together in end of their high school career.
The class of 2020 was originally set to graduate at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, May 30 from 12 p.m to 2 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school campus closures, this in-person event was canceled.
Seniors will be picking up their cap and gown, as well as their yearbook, honors and awards, and receive a special sweet treat in a parade-style event on Friday, May 15 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m.
