The NP3 Moot Court team finished its third round of competition on March 11.
NP3 High School’s team went up against Franklin High School’s Moot Court team.
NP3 students that competed on Thursday were freshmen Jacque Paltzer and Jireh Owens, sophomore Nimrat Bains and senior Dilraj Gill.
“The first round was pretty tough, the judges shot a lot of questions toward both sides and it was challenging,” said Owens, reflecting on all three round. “The second round was easy-going. The third round was good but, I feel like I wasn’t prepared as I could’ve been.”
Owens said that he felt the team performed well.
According to Paltzer, the sides that were going to compete in round three were reversed shortly before the round, giving members less time to get ready.
“I think given that situation we did pretty well,” added Paltzer, who looks forward to participating in the Moot Court team again next year.. “We definitely had our fair share of tough competitors and we await our new scores.”
NP3 Moot Court move on to the semifinal round if it ranks in the top four out of 12 teams.
At press time NP3’s Moot Court rank was unknown.
Semifinals will be held on March 16. Contact NP3 High teacher and Moot Court coach Staci Osborn for details on how to watch the semifinals.
