This is the American Cancer Society Club’s first year at NP3 High School.
Every other Tuesday the American Cancer Society meets during lunch in health teacher Cherise Wabinga’s classroom (G-1) to work toward a four-part plan; advocacy, patient support, fundraisers, and discovery.
The main goal of the club is to help and donate to the people with cancer, raise awareness on the seriousness of cancer and how to prevent it, and educate others about cancer.
According to club officers Gania Rinwa and Ava Sison, students should consider joining the American Cancer Society Club because:
“The mission of the American Cancer Society is to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, fundraising, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.”
