Staff vs. Student Basketball Game is Set for Friday

It is almost time for NP3’s annual Staff vs. Student basketball game — this time, with a twist!

The Staff vs. Student game has been changed to a Staff vs. Senior game to give the Class of 2025 a final send-off. The game is meant to be similar to how other schools celebrate a “Senior Night” for their athletes.

The basketball game is scheduled for this Friday, May 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person and are only being sold at the door.

The basketball game is also intended to show appreciation to the NP3 staff, as May 5-9 is Teacher Appreciation Week.

Although only seniors will play against the staff, students from all grade levels are encouraged to attend and show their support. Student government will sell food and drinks.

The basketball game will be open to the whole NP3 community, including families. This allows the seniors who are playing in the game to be cheered on by their family for one last high school event.

Seniors and staff will all be introduced to the crowd as they walk onto the court. All staff members who participate in the game will have their own high school graduation year as their jersey numbers. All of the seniors will be wearing No. 25.

During halftime, there will be basketball-related games during which those in the audience will be encouraged to go onto the court and participate.

At the end of the game, the winning team will be given a trophy, in what Student Government hopes will become a new tradition of a final sendoff for seniors, and a demonstration of appreciation for NP3 staff members.
