The new NP3 Red Cross Club is one of the largest clubs on campus, with about 190-200 members.

The NP3 club is also an official chapter of the American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance and disaster relief in the United States and internationally. The organization relies on volunteers and public donations to carry out its mission of preventing and relieving human suffering.

NP3’s Red Cross Club focuses on volunteering, fundraising, and spreading awareness about various disaster relief efforts and health issues. The club has plans for service projects such as hosting blood drives, organizing donation drives, free first aid and CPR training workshops for club members, and volunteering at community events.

“Participants will attend Red Cross youth meetings to gain knowledge, develop a school-wide campaign, and organize events using platforms like newspaper articles, social media, and workshops, while collaborating with youth from other schools to raise community awareness,” says junior Bhumika Tandel, a club leader.

Junior Tanya Gadhia, also a  club leader, explained, “The club allows its volunteers to be prepared for many situations through their disaster preparedness programs and free CPR certification. I think these are really important skills and Red Cross is making a big impact by ensuring more people are able to be ready and aware at all times.”

NP3 seniors in the Red Cross Club can earn a graduation cord by volunteering a minimum of 40 hours and attending at least eight meetings.

“I like how not only is it the first Red Cross Club at our school, it gives NP3 students a chance to further explore the realm of medicine and helps them give back to the community in many different ways,” said senior Eshal Shahid, vice president of the club.

The club meets every other Thursday during lunch. Students interested in learning more about NP3’s Red Cross Club can contact a[email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], or visit the NP3 Red Cross Instagram page, www.instagram.com/p/DNuKXMD4kjx/.
