There was a lot of holiday spirit around in the gym on Friday, Dec. 6 as NP3 High students celebrated the holidays by performing Christmas songs and drinking hot chocolate.
The event featured performances by the NP3’s Choir, JV Dance Team and Robotics Team. Also teachers including Mr. Harris and Mr. James performed some songs. Harris even played his guitar.
NP3 students at the event were also invited to come and perform their own songs on the main stage. Toward the end of the evening, students played a game of Kahoot and the winner received a free slice of pizza from the Student Government booth. The Kahoot had 15 questions in total, which included questions about holiday songs and corresponding emojis.
Students were also able to take their pictures with Santa for about 30 minutes. There were several club-run booths selling food items such as candy, hot chocolate, egg nog, popcorn, and mini-gingerbread houses. Those students who pre-ordered tickets prior to the event got to decorate sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles for free.
Students watched the performances from the floor by the stage, from benches behind them or even from a row of the bleachers. Students were greeted by Patchy, the NP3 mascot, when they were sitting. They had the opportunity to take pictures with him, and he made brief appearances on the stage during some performances.
The event still ran smoothly, despite having to move indoors, due to rain.
