As seniors work on their senior projects, The Pacific Times asked seniors:
“What is your senior project about, and what are you hoping to address with it”?
Alice Jenkins
“My senior project focuses on fostering and educating youth participation in our democracy. Specifically, I aim to expose NP3 students to both local and federal politics, with the goal of encouraging the next generation of voters to actively engage in shaping their communities and our nation”.
Stefany Munoz
“My senior project is about the lack of first aid education within the youth. My partner Kirit Khinda and I are hoping to address this issue by hosting CPR certification events at school. We have successfully hosted one in December and we are hoping to host another one next year”.
Elvira Chi
“My senior project is about reducing the amount of plastic in our environment so that the community can enjoy a clean parkway. I’ve done this by partnering with the American River Parkway Foundation to host monthly cleanup events and a fundraiser to repair picnic benches by the parkway. Please check out the fundraiser page for more information”.
Natalia Jacquez
“My senior project is focused on helping the unhoused youth specifically in Sacramento work towards getting a better education. I hope to resolve this issue by volunteering at low poverty schools and donating $500 worth of school supplies to children in need”.
Danielle Rivera
“My senior project is about encouraging more community volunteering here in Sacramento! I am doing this by working with my favorite volunteer place, Front Street Animal Shelter and am encouraging people of all ages to volunteer and care for the animals inside the shelter. Through my senior project, I want to address how important volunteering is to Front Street and why taking care of the animals here in the community of Sacramento is so important.”
