NP3 Volleyball Club is a new student-led club where students gather to play volleyball together in their free time.

The club meets every Tuesday in the Gym from 4-5 p.m. and is open to all students.

The club was created by sophomore Gianna Guazelli, who plays competitive volleyball outside of school. Guazelli hopes to teach and play the sport she loves, while forming new friendships with students across campus.

“I hope next year to create a Volleyball Team so that we can compete against other schools,” Guazelli said. “Being able to play after school with my friends for now is a really fun way to end my school day.”

At each practice, members form teams and play against each other, focusing on various skills each week. Some skills include serving, passing, setting, and blocking from various areas of the court. Members also participate in games like pepper where players pass, set, and hit the volleyball back and forth, trying to keep it from hitting the ground. The goal of practice is to build on pre-existing skills while learning new ones so members can get better at volleyball while having fun.

“I really enjoy the club because I get to play volleyball with my friends,” said junior Quinn Schoech, who also plays volleyball outside of school.
