Folks in Natomas gathered around on a Saturday afternoon to spend quality time with their friends and family and witnessed the Christmas tree lighting.
The event was held at the South Natomas Community Center on Dec. 8, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event was free for the whole community and featured family activities as well as cookies and snacks. Santa also came out on a firetruck and entertained children as well as their parents during the event.
The tree was officially lit at 6:30 p.m. Families were amazed by how gorgeous the tree looked and took time admiring the tree before they all headed home.
“The tree is absolutely beautiful, you can tell a lot of effort was put into and it shows. Great job to those that made this all happen,” said Raeesah Begg who attended the event that afternoon.
This event was able to bring the community together and helped spread some light during the holiday season.
