The Sacramento County Bar Association recognized Natomas Pacific Pathway Prep’s mock trial team with a grant of $4,000 at the Pro Bono Awards Night held Oct. 25.
A group of students, coaches, and NP3 administration attended the awards night to accept the donation.
Coach and teacher Staci Osborn applied for the grant with the help of attorney coach Keith Staten and was one of the three recipients. The grant recognizes organizations making an effort to promote knowledge of the law or to help average citizens better access their rights.
With these funds, the NP3 High mock trial team now has increased resources for travel such as a trip to San Diego from Nov. 3-5 for a tournament with other schools. The money will also be put towards buying needed supplies for the team such as notepads and printing exhibits for trial.
