NP3’s newly-elected student body officers show promise for an exciting 2019-20 school year.
“I’m happy that I got elected and nervous at the same time,” junior Hadeel Zidan, the 2019-20 NP3 president said. “I’m excited to bring up new events and change up the rallies.”
“I want to make the school unified and gain more spirit and more fundraisers with sports,” added the student board member Salma Silva, currently a sophomore.
For those who haven’t heard the 2019-20 election results, NP3’s new officers include Zidan, Silva, sophomore Ashvir Singh as vice president, junior Ayona Roy as secretary, sophomore Gagan Kaur as treasurer, junior Kimberly Rivera as sound manager and junior Zara Afridi and sophomore Makaiae Gonzales as communication officers.
“I’m going to work with the president, vice-president & student government to make sure everything goes to plan and handle school events,” Roy said.
“I want to represent our school and stay true to the people,” said Singh. “I want to bring change.”
Afridi had advice for students considering student government or running for an officer in the 2020-21 school year, “In student government, you need skills such as confidence, honesty, supportive [of your peers], and NP3 spirit. You take on the role of leadership and maturity in order to inform the student body of current school events and activities.”
Congratulations to the new elected NP3 officers! We are grateful for our student officers who will work hard for NP3!
