If you want to have a chance to earn free money for college or simply need help with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA), then come on over to the Financial Aid Night held by your very own high school counselors.
The workshop will be on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m in the Library for seniors.
There will be experts from the Sacramento City College’s Financial Aid Department with Np3 High School counselors guiding everyone with their application.
Chromebooks will be available to everyone to fill out their application on campus.
Come to the workshop with the following documents you have and that apply to you:
- Driver’s license, if applicable.
- Social Security Card or number.
- Alien Registration number, if applicable.
- Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)- students and parents.
- List of colleges you are interested in attending.
- Most current 2019 bank statements.
- Parents most current 2019 bank statements.
- Any records of untaxed income such as welfare benefits, Social Security benefits, or child support payments.
- The FAFSA and CADAA applications will utilize your 2018 tax and income information to apply for 2020-21 student aid. While completing the FAFSA, you will use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) to populate students and parents 2018 tax information.
- Students 2018 W2’s or income information, if applicable.
- Parents 2018 W2’s or income information.
- FSA ID (only for FAFSA), both student AND parent will need one. If student or parent does not have one, visit StudentAid.gov/fsaid to create an FSA ID.
The 2018 income and tax information are used to apply for financial aid for the 2020-21 academic year. If financial situations has changed since 2017 for the worse, then following up with the institutions students are applying to are encouraged.
