NP3 High School will have virtual clubs to start off the 2020-21 year, but this may change if school switches back to in-person.
Students can start their own clubs by filling out an application form, similar to previous years. Applications will be filled out through Google Forms, reviewed, and approved by the student government in the order they are received.
Once a club application has been approved, an email will be sent to club leaders notifying them of it. If the maximum number of clubs that can be active is reached, any additional club applications that are approved will be wait listed.
Here’s more information about this year’s returning clubs:
- Key Club will have meetings every other Thursday from 12-1 p.m. The club focuses on community service and membership requirements include maintaining a good academic record, participating in at least seven events by the end of the term, and regular attendance. Past examples of student led service projects include cleanups, making cards for kids in hospitals, and an NP3 Elementary Matey Carnival. Applications have been sent out already, but you can contact club leaders or visit its Instagram page @np3keyclub for more details. Key Club’s president is Ashvir Singh ([email protected]) and its vice president is Alina Susu ([email protected]). Applications are due by the 28th of August. Once applications are approved, letters of acceptance will be sent out via email. It is possible to join the club even if the application deadline has passed. Students interested should contact Key Club’s student officers.
- Drama Club will have meetings every other Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. There are no membership requirements but auditions will be held for roles (optional for the 2020-21 school year). For more information, check out the club’s Instagram page @_np3drama_, NP3 announcements, or ask club leaders for information. You can contact the club’s president, Noble Mahan ([email protected]) or vice president, Jaclyn Nguyen ([email protected]).
Information about new clubs can be expected to appear in school announcements. Each club can include information about meetings and events in school announcements, by emailing it to student government by Tuesday, 5 p.m. of every week. A virtual club rush will also be coming in September.
