After four years of hard work, NP3 seniors have received their offers of admission to colleges and universities, and must decide which to accept today, May 1.

Emily Do

These seniors have been weighing their options and comparing factors such as financial aid, distance from home, and prestige. Here are what some students have to say about their plans for the future:

“I’m committed to Stanford University for math and computer science,” said Emily Do. “Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of attending Stanford. I’m grateful for all my friends and teachers at NP3 who helped me achieve this.”

Morsal Abdali

Morsal Abdali plans to major in political science, and wants to have an adventure away from home.

“I was accepted into UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara for Political Science,” said Abdali. “Davis is close to home and near the capital, which is great for internships, but Santa Barbara is away from home and more fun.”

Arjan Singh

Arjan Singh plans to attend American River College for mechanical engineering.

“I want to transfer to UCLA from ARC for their aerospace program,” said Singh.

Gia Bedi

Added Gia Bedi, “I plan to attend San Diego State for computer science.”

Aahil Iqbal

Aahil Iqbal has committed to American River College. Currently he is considering majoring in biomedical engineering or working in his family’s business.

Alex Lao

Alex Lao said he has to make the “decision of his life”— whether to attend UC Davis or UC Berkeley for chemistry. He said he has to decide whether to “stay close to (my) family or move from (my) comfort zone.”

Isabella Bravo

Isabella Bravo said she will be going to UC Berkeley and majoring in political science.

“In the future I want to go into journalism and political reporting,” she said. “I like that Berkeley is very social justice oriented and how their political science is very reputable. They also have a strong graduate program for journalism that I’m interested in.”

Hassaan Arshad

Hassaan Arshad was accepted to UCLA for the life sciences. However, he is considering whether to attend American River College and transfer later.

Jugaad Dhaliwal

Jugaad Dhaliwal was accepted into UC Davis.

“I like that Davis is close to home. I plan to major in electrical engineering. I’ve been building since a kid and love electronics,” said Dhaliwal.

Mustafa Ghulam Sakhi

Mustafa Ghulam Sakhi was offered admission to UC Berkeley and UC Davis for life sciences.

“I’m conflicted between the two because Davis will give me a better GPA for med school, but Berkeley is more prestigious and has connections to UCSF medical school,” said Sakhi. “I dream of attending medical school at either John Hopkins or UCSF.”

Alvin Ao

Said Alvin Ao, “I’m committed to UC San Diego for Computer Science.”
