NP3 is hosting its annual summer school this year for most of the month of June.
Students who are eligible for summer school are those with the grade NC, or no credit, in core academic classes such as English, math and science.
NP3 High School teacher Stacey Asher said participating in summer school is encouraged for those students who need it.
“It’s a time for students to come and for students who have scored an NC in a class, to get the grade up,” said Asher.
This year, summer school is not mandatory. If students are unable to attend, they will retake the classes next fall, according to Asher.
The summer school class schedule will remain similar to what it is currently, for those attending in-person learning, Asher explained.
“It’s in person instruction, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and (students) will be working on one or two classes a day,” said Asher. “This is a great opportunity for students.”
Students should have already been notified if they are eligible for summer school, said Asher. Asher also mentioned transportation to and from the NP3 campus may be available to students later this summer.
Summer school starts at NP3 on June 7, officially one week after the 2020-21 school year ends. The last class is scheduled for June 25.
