On Oct. 28 NP3 High advisories participated in a door decorating contest along with a trick-or-treating event for NP3 Elementary students.
Seniors took first in the competition which was hosted for the second time this school year, followed by freshman in second, juniors in third and sophomores in fourth.
Teresa Villaneva’s door which was themed Jurassic Park took first in the competition and her advisory was awarded with donuts on Nov. 2.
Casey Harris’ Deadpool door was chosen as the best senior door, Dulce Hernandez’s “Witches Cauldron” door was chosen as the best junior door and Heather Rodriguez’s Coraline themed door was selected as the best freshman door.
This year NP3 High Student Government gave scores to doors, instead of staff who gave scores last year.
The door decorating competition was accompanied by a spirit week where freshmen had the most participation, followed by juniors in second, seniors in third and sophomores in fourth.
Only the first four days of the spirit week were calculated in the grade participation, as Dress as Your Door Day and Costume Day were excluded as a result of issues with gathering participation data.
However on Oct. 31 students participated in a costume contest in the quad during lunch where the student with the best costume in each grade was awarded with a medal and candy.
Following spirit week and the door decorating competition, freshman and seniors are in first place with 500 Pirate Points, juniors are in second with 475 Pirate Points and sophomores are in fourth with 325 Pirate Points.
