The yearly senior sweatshirt contest recently wrapped up and after two rounds of voting, Isabella Dalalo—a senior in Jonathon Peacock’s advisory—is the winner.
The competition for the official Class of 2025 sweatshirt started on August 6, 2024. All seniors were invited to submit a unique graphic design to be considered and voted on by students in the senior advisories.
Seniors expressed mixed feelings about the different designs submitted. Ultimately Dalalo’s complex design won.
Dalalo’s design is black and white; it includes “Seniors Class of ‘25” written in large letters, a large pirate ship in the center, and four smaller advisory symbols—a crown, a flower holding a V sign, a cat, a UFO, a tractor, a peacock feather, a goose, and the “Knestrick’s Advisory Class of 2025” logo—on both sides of the pirate ship.
“The main goal of mine was to create a design unique to our senior class, so I drew small symbols to represent each of our advisories,” said Dalalo. “Then, I added a pirate ship to represent our school.”
While artistic, Dalalo was hesitant to submit a design at first, but thanks to her classmates’ encouragement, she ultimately submitted the winning entry.
Dalalo’s favorite part of her design is the advisory symbols, because “…each holds a small meaning to an advisor,” said Dalalo.
For any future seniors who want to try creating a design, but don’t know where to start, Dalalo shared she used Clip Studio Paint to create the graphic.
