NP3’s Robotics team finished the 2025-26 season with four awards.

Team C, an all-girls team, was honored with the Judges’ Award in acknowledgment of their dedication and perseverance. Team D earned the Sportsmanship Award for their positive attitude and fair play throughout the competitions. And Team E received two Innovation Awards for their inventiveness in robot design and strategy.

This season, the VEX Robotics competition introduced a new game called “Push Back.” In this game, teams competed to maneuver two different colored cubes, scoring points by placing the cubes onto designated poles. The challenge required both technical skill and teamwork, as robots had to be engineered and programmed to accomplish the tasks efficiently.

NP3 Robotics included Teams A, B, C, D, and E.

“Robotics made me learn a lot, but the people I’ve met were most important to me,” said Team B member Dylan Reyes, a graduating senior who has been in robotics throughout high school.

Senior Eshal Sahid added, “My experience in robotics was really fun. I liked it a lot, not just because of building a robot, but also because I got to meet so many amazing people and make so many memories at each of our competitions.”

“Robotics taught me a lot beyond just building robots…,” said first-time team member Alivia Rubiano, from Team C. “It taught me how to collaborate well with strangers who become my teammates over time.”

Added Robotics advisor Kim Knestrick, “This year was a good learning experience. This year was full of ups and downs. The robotics kids persevered to create competitive robots in a very competitive game, and I am proud of what they accomplished this year.”

Robotics tryouts will be held at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year.
