This year’s junior-senior prom was held April 25 at the Aerospace Museum of California.

The theme was “The Great Gatsby.”

School staff and students worked together to plan the prom in the months leading up to the big event. They met to plan, arrange, and prepare for the prom’s layout. Together, decorations, food, and music were coordinated ahead of time to ensure prom met students’ expectations.

Laura Sieglitz, one of the teachers who helped plan this year’s prom, explained why students might have found the night so special.

“It’s a bigger venue, you’re not on NP3 campus where a lot of our activities are, so it will give us a different environment,” she said. “Our culture and our school is so unique that when they come together, it’s just a very magical experience because they’re somewhere new.”

For juniors, this was their first prom, whereas it was the final high school dance for seniors.

“I really like how interactive the venue was,” said junior Guadalupe Martin. “I feel like it was something different and kept people entertained throughout the night.”

Senior Nathanael Nichols said his favorite part about prom was “hanging out with friends.”

Added senior Jasleen Gidda, “I liked the two stories (venue), being able to see from the top, the ambience, and how big the venue was.”
