NP3 High’s prom is canceled, it was announced March 16 in a letter home to families during spring break.

The NP3 administration decision to cancel the event is in keeping with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation to avoid gatherings of 10 or more people.

Prom was originally set for Saturday, April at the California Automobile Museum in Old Sacramento.

Information about refends is pending for those students who bought tickets.

“We are currently working with the prom vendors and will update you with information regarding refunds as we gather additional information,” wrote NP3 High principal Melissa Mori.

Mori added, “I understand that this is disappointing for many of our students, but given the widespread closures and cancellations throughout the nation, this is the right decision for the safety and health of our students and community.”
