With the first term almost halfway over, The Pacific Times asked NP3 High teachers:
“What is the best thing about being a teacher?”
Melissa Ciubal, NP3 12th grade English, Choir, and Drama Teacher
“The best thing about being a teacher is working with students and getting to teach and care for about 100 students a day, I love being around them. I get to improve for myself and students when I’m teaching. I also love teaching things I am passionate about such as Drama, Choir, and English. I also love how it’s always a dynamic workday every day, so there is always something new to do which I look forward to.”
Jennifer Hembree, U.S History and Student Government Teacher
“The best thing about being a teacher is it enables me to do something different everyday, like I never get bored of my job. I love to impact my students in a way where they grow and learn to be better people each day. My students also inspire me every day to become a better person in daily life and a better teacher for my students.”
Johnathon Peacock, AP U.S Government and Politics and Economics/Civil Law Teacher
“The best thing about being a teacher is getting to discuss interesting topics and issues in Government and Econ with my students and hearing people’s opinions and perspective of things, it’s always nice to get a teenagers perspective on real-world issues because it’s different from adults.”
Kim Knestrick, Engineering, Chemistry, and ACE Physics Teacher
“The best thing about being a teacher is making students smile and making them happy. I love giving them a positive view on education, especially in my science classes. I love seeing them realize that they can do more than they think they can. I inspire them to never give up and to never have a negative side of things because these students are capable of so much.”
