  19. NBA2k21
  20. Cyberpunk 2077

“During my time in quarantine, I enjoyed playing Call of Duty: Cold War, Grand Theft Auto V or GTA 5, and NBA2K19,” said Hadia Ahmad, a freshman at NP3 High.

Kennedy High School freshman Samuel Oen said his favorite games he played this year are League of Legends and Minecraft.

“Throughout this year, I’ve been playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, For Honor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from 2017,” said NP3 High senior Preston Gilbert.

Some people haven’t had a chance to get the games they wanted this year.

For example, Ahmad said she plans to get the new Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the recently new Cyberpunk 2077. Gilbert also plans to get Cyberpunk 2077 and the new Call of Duty: Cold War.

“I want to get the new Halo Infinite that’s planning to come out this December,” Gilbert said.

There have been trailers of the upcoming games next year and many people are highly anticipating some of the upcoming games. Ahmad said that she wants to get Resident Evil: Village and the upcoming Gran Turismo that are all planning to be released in 2021.

As for Oen, he would like to wait it out so the prices could be cheaper.

“I don’t intend on planning to buy any games soon since most brand-new games are extremely expensive and overpriced,” he said.

Added Ahmad, “Once the storm cools out, I plan on getting the new PS5.”

Aside from video games, there have been releases of the next-gen consoles for gaming. Many of the consoles are currently sold out and some decided to wait it out. Gilbert, on the other hand, plans to get the new Xbox Series X.

On the other hand, Oen said, “I think console gaming as a whole is a little bit unfit for me since each console only has a specific amount of games, causing you to oftentimes buy multiple consoles and in the end, spend more for gaming than if you just bought a good PC in the first place.”

There are some who prefer playing on PC rather than on consoles.

With 2020 coming to an end, many people still enjoy playing video games and it’s not stopping. People like Ahmad, Gilbert, and Oen are still into playing video games.

With the upcoming games coming soon, what are some games that you’re waiting for and what are some of your favorite games of this year?
