This is Mitzi Missio’s first year teaching at NP3 High School.
Missio teaches a 9th grade English class, English recovery class, and is a freshman advisor.
Before NP3 High School Missio taught at NP3 Middle School for seven years, from 2012 to 2019 before she moved to Roseville and taught at a school there. She returned to NP3 for the 2023-24 school year.
Missio attended UC Santa Barbara and received her bachelor’s degree and two master’s, one in sociology and one in education. As a high school student, she was involved in her school’s debate and dance team. She was also her school’s student body president and took multiple honor classes.
“It stands out as a place where students with a small school feel that makes every kid feel unique. Every student is known and I love that, every student is valued and I love that. The rigor of the coursework is really teaching students about life skills that are important for success,” Missio said when asked about her impressions of NP3 she said.
Missio is an active person and her hobbies include snowboarding, camping, boating, and traveling.
Missio considers herself to be a daredevil as she hardly says no to anything, such as skydiving. She said she used to own a Harley Davidson motorcycle and has traveled to parts of Mexico, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Canada, the East Coast, New York, and went on a cruise to Alaska.
